Can you figure out what's wrong with these PCs?

Retro PC Workshop is a hands-on retro computer repair game about diagnosing problems rather than following repair instructions.

This early browser demo contains three repair jobs. Inspect the hardware, boot the machine, search technical documentation, use diagnostic tools and make whatever changes you think are necessary.

The game won't tell you what's broken. That's your job.

⚠️ This is an early playtest

This build exists to test the core diagnostic gameplay. It's rough around the edges and represents only a small part of the planned game.

You do not need to finish all three jobs to give useful feedback. If you get completely stuck, I want to know that too.

The main thing I'm trying to learn is whether diagnosing these machines is understandable and satisfying without the game giving away the solution.

Left mouse: interact / select
Right mouse + drag: camera
Mouse wheel: zoom
Esc: back / close

Additional controls are explained in-game.

Desktop browser recommended. The current playtest is designed for mouse and keyboard.

Where is this going?

The long-term idea is a much larger open-ended retro PC workshop: diagnose and repair machines, build PCs from parts, test and benchmark them, buy and sell hardware, improve your workshop and deal with increasingly obscure hardware and software problems.

But first I want to know whether the most important part works:
